Swaps for my demonstrator meeting

I had to make about 18 cards to swap tomorrow at my "Sincerely Stamped" upline meeting. My cards had to be made out of Sale A Bration stamp sets, or accessories. I used the Polka Dot Punches set and the Polka Dot DSP as well as the new 5/8th inch Certainly Celery and So Saffron ribbons. These are all FREE during Sale A Bration with the purchase of $50! It all begins Feb. 1 through March 31st. Tomorrow I will start posting some of the other sample card fronts I traded so you can see how the other Sale A Bration stamp sets look made into card fronts. Watch for new posts each day this week!

Mojo Monday Sketch #71

This is my first Mojo Monday sketch! I found this fun web site not to long ago. Check it out! I used the Stampin Up "Heartfelt" and "Dreams du Jour" stamp sets, along with the new Sale a Bration designer paper "Delicate Dots." Certainly Celery and So Saffron are my cardstock base with Certainly Celery Sale a Bration wide ribbon. The yellow rhinestone brads are fun to embellish this simple card full of squares! My Swap Cards

This Sunday is my Sincerely Stamped meeting. About 17 of us will swap cards and make several projects, get new ideas and enjoy stamping together. That is one of the benefits of being a Stampin Up! demonstrator! This time we are making our swaps from any of the Sale a Bration stamps and accessories. My little cards are made from the Top Note Big Shot die and the "Delicate Dots" designer paper. I stamped the punch outs with "Polka Dot Punches" as my embellishments, all Sale a Bration products. The Certainly Celery wide ribbon is also a Sale a Bration goodie! I love the colors in these papers...Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, and Sahara Sand. I think I will make a baby scrapbook for my grandson out of this paper...!!! Remember, if you order $50 in Stampin Up products you can choose a Sale a Bration stamp set or accessory shown in the mini cataloq for FREE. Just check my website under promotions and click on the Sale A Bration cataloq. It all begins February 1 through March 31.

Stamp a Stack Class

The girls made some beautiful cards, but unfortunately, I had my camera on the wrong setting when I took the picture of their work! So these are my samples, not their projects!!! ( I'm sorry Debbie and Melody!) Anyway, we had fun and ate chocolate, sugar cookies and Raspberry Zinger tea! Posted by Picasa

Mr. Twigster

I like to leave an encouraging little note for the teacher when I substitute. This one is made from the top note die. I made a little pocket from the Frosty Day designer paper and inserted Mr. Twigster...my note to the teacher is written on the other side. Tangerine Tango cardstock, along with the 5/8th inch Baja Blue grograin striped ribbon add a pop of unexpected winter colors don't you think?. I watercolored Twigster with Baja Blue and Tangerine Tango stamp pad ink and my aqua painter. ( I used another embossing folder with a snowflake design for the background of the TT cardstock! ) Watch for my simple teacher gift in the next post!

Joy Thoughts

It doesn't take much to make me happy, but to find real joy- that happens sometimes unexpectantly. I can't wait for the birth of my first grandchild. That little person will surely fill my heart with joy. It will be a love connection immediately. That is because there will be a relationship to begin and look forward to growing each time I see and hold that little one. I was reading in the Psalms and David said this of his relationship with the Lord, " You will make known to me the path of life; in your presence is fulness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forever." (Psalm 16:11) My real joy comes in this relationship with the Lord too. But it is a fulness, a richness, only because I am getting to know Him better each day...as I trust Him with everything...What are you trusting Him for today? I pray you find joy.

Think Spring!

I have been wanting to experiment with my Big Shot! I love this simple "Daisy Flower" sizzlit and the "Buttons #5" sizzlet. The flower and flower center are created from those 2 Stampin Up products. I found an embossing folder that creates the raised background in Very Vanilla and watercolored the stems in Regal Rose and Old Olive to match the cardstock the card is mounted on. The pretty Regal Rose grograin ribbon adds a simple embelishment to top off this simple card.
Hope you can come to the Valentine Card class to try out my Big Shot! It is so much fun! (You might wonder, what is this "embossing folder?" Come to a class or my club and find out!!!

"Loads of Love"

This fun stamp set called "Loads of Love" lends itself to lots of holidays! So I just loaded up the hearts on the truck which is stamped on Designer paper from the hostess level 1 pack, cut her out and put her on top of the pre- stamped image of the truck. The other cardstock is whisper white, rose red, and Designer paper Bella Rose. The wheels are colored black and I put the clear rhinestone brads in the middle! I always seem to have to have some "bling."

The source of my stampin joy!

What gives me joy? The dictionary defines joy as, "a state of happiness," or "to experience great pleasure or delight." I do experience joy as I stamp or share this love with others. But the deep down source of my joy comes from another source, a source deep in my heart flowing out of a special relationship with the Lord that began...40 years ago!!!! As a prophet of old reminded the people of God centuries ago, "The joy of the Lord is your strength." So, joy is the ongoing theme of this little blog!

Time to make thank you notes! My mother trained me to send a little note to anyone who gave us a gift. I hope I trained my kids as well. This card was made from Old Olive cardstock, Ski Slope Designer Paper, and a cute stamp set I borrowed from my friend Debbie called "A Flower for All Seasons." It is perfect for the scallop circle punch!!! I watercolored the image with Real Red and Kiwi Kiss ink from the pads. Don't forget to send your thank you notes!!!
